This was a bit of a surprise...

A photo of my car round about 1960/61 at Aintree, found on the Facel thread of the French Forum Auto. I'd previously been in touch with an English chap who said he used to be Sales Director at Intercontinental Cars, the Facel importer. He claimed to know my car well (it was the first HK500 demonstrator) and said it had had a red roof. Frankly, I hadn't really believed him, as there was no evidence of red paint when we'd stripped the car.

...time for humble pie!!

I believe the man in the photo is George Abecassis and the lady is therefore probably Angela Brown, daughter of David Brown of Aston fame. However, this is only a guess!

Apparently the photo first surfaced among someone's 1960s holiday snaps on Flikr.

Amazing thing, the internet!

Found, unsurprisingly on volvoamazonpictures.se, the plates have since been changed. Another car comes quite high if you google 'Stolen Audi 80 2.8'.

I came across this one of mine when it was still in America.

I was able to contact the photographer and he had recorded the owner at the time (a famous collector). This lead to me contacting him and he gave me some new information on its history

I came across a picture of my car (which I took) on the Revolution Wheels website Hall of Fame. Apparently it was owned by someone else - strange as I've owned it from new!

I never thought about it then I read this thread and there she is, in her original trim, before I set about the tidy up and chrome conversion.
Thanks for putting this thread on Pistonheads.

Mike

Didn't think I'd find this one as never seen the photo before; typed in reg# and up it came. From August 2008 in Surrey + previous owner driving.

I was amazed to see our Camper on Google Streetview, parked outside the former owner's house in Hamburg.

Years back I did a photoshoot for Practical Classics with the Esprit, some of those are now on Lotus Esprit World and come up if you search Images for almost any Lotus name plus "S2".

As there aren't many AC 3000MEs that get used very much, an Image search for MEs gets you pics of these same few cars including mine, some when it was with the previous owner.

One of the guys on the ME forum does searches for ME pics and posts links to any new ones he finds. This one I found slightly worrying as I have no recollection when it could have been taken, really don't remember parking amongst a load of moderns next to a Range Rover!

Its the image that is subject to copyright, not the subject.

I have 7000+ pictures on Photobucket, mainly cars and sometimes I see that one or two have lots of hits - its when they get quoted on forums - usually here!

The last one was a Colt Starion Turbo.
