Lavender blue cars
Discussion
heres BMC orchid around 1959.
My frogeye is repainted cherry red by PO, was speedwell blue originally (very light) which I love but is also a bit common.
Now thinking of repainting it (its a mess at the mo) either lavender blue or orchid shown here. Think it would suit it and make it more unique yet still in period. Here's a 1959 BMC car in orchid.

I know it isn't lavender, I just thought that since there were pictures of baby blue cars, I'd join in At least it isn't BRG, which is was then he graciously arranged for me to have a ride in it.

So from this thread just to recap, ive spotted four lovely shades
viola
lavender
heather
orchid
Agree Lavender is somehow the best because the others might be a tad insipid, and lavender is still a colour.
All nice though.
Lavender is less saturated than most colours and it suits the beautifull 60s and 70s shapes. Check out Alfa Romeo greys: wow - compared to todays dull greys.viola
