Cracking V8 Griff - but hardly lavender: baby blue.

And a Spa 6 Hours favorite.

Lavender blue

Lavender pink

Lavender purple

I guess the blue lavender suits a car. The other colours are ... a bit daft, innit?

New favourite colour for me, those moggies were nice to, but lavender blue seems just the right balance between a colour and a pastel shade.

heres BMC orchid around 1959.
My frogeye is repainted cherry red by PO, was speedwell blue originally (very light) which I love but is also a bit common.
Now thinking of repainting it (its a mess at the mo) either lavender blue or orchid shown here. Think it would suit it and make it more unique yet still in period. Here's a 1959 BMC car in orchid.

Loving the BMC - My dads 1st car was a 16/60 Wolseley.

Ken: Ziegler D ain't lavender - as is not that Trevor. Just to show what is lavender wink

These are the cars that started my love for lavender:

So from this thread just to recap, ive spotted four lovely shades
viola
lavender
heather
orchid
Agree Lavender is somehow the best because the others might be a tad insipid, and lavender is still a colour.
All nice though.

Sorry, that's Pageant blue - not lavender in the slightest. Thanks for the pic though. I like a clean 1750 Maxi, fine beast!

I know it isn't lavender, I just thought that since there were pictures of baby blue cars, I'd join in wink
At least it isn't BRG, which is was then he graciously arranged for me to have a ride in it.

"While it seems like red, silver and black were the most popular colors for the 300SL, a whole variety of blues, grays, greens and even a lavender metallic hue were available."

Jaguar XJ6 dilly-dilly

Now THAT's Lavender! A great colour that suited the XJ including the pre HE XJ-S.

Lavender is less saturated than most colours and it suits the beautifull 60s and 70s shapes. Check out Alfa Romeo greys: wow - compared to todays dull greys.
