I slightly adjusted to get this beauty in a perfect lavender hue.

I saw this SWB on the road in St John's Wood a couple of months ago......well as least I saw one painted exactly like that. I turned into a jibbering wreck....my wife even said it was "nice".

Excellent recall. That also rang a bell in my mind about my old French teacher's transport:

The Herald is very definitely blue, not lavender. Sorry.

Oh, and the Minor Million colour was called lilac at the time. Not lavender.

Probably because the word lavender has homosexual connotations.

No, just because the paint colour was lilac and not lavender.

In just the same way that Snowberry White was named. Not because it had homosexual connotations, but because it was, well, white.

Au contraire.

The colour was Alpine Mauve though they did do a blue.

Was it not just all the colours used on minors mixed up? Something lurking in my head tells me they did that.

I think that the TR6 looks fantastic in lavender.

I've never had a truly lavender coloured car, though there are definitely shades of lavender or violet in my Alfa.

And I briefly owned a Griff which was a splendid colour, but again I never knew whether it was lavender, violet or just plain blue.

Sorry to be pedantic, but the picture of the French teacher's car is of the blue colour - I've got the Dinky model of the saloon.

Might as well post the rest of the pictures of the Daimler.
This was a mates car and I'm mad that he sold it last year as I would have loved to own it
