The more I look at it now the idea of a BL Princess being under there is more convincing. The rough shape the skinny bumpers even the repeater light shape and position, but the windscreen bothers me, too wrapped round, or are we being deceived by a wide angle lens??

Me neither, the top of the windscreen/ roof area reminds me of the old XJ's . Maybe it's a parts bin mish-mash of BL leftovers.

Heck of a lot of similar looking stuff here

http://www.taalk.me/wallpaper-high-speed-375-l-by-...

Lot's of these seem to be from 60's, extrapolate the styling to 70's wedge type stuff and you're not a million miles away?

It wasn't actully, it was comfortable and roomey.. Plenty of head room if you know what I mean.
My dad had a Princess after him Morris 1800. It was a better car all round than the land-crab.

Wow, I posted on page one of this and just came back to see the result, 13 pages and still no answer? I would have bet this would have been resolved before page 5. Having gone on this long with still just guesses, this car has to be someones one off, rather than a documented prototype which you'd imagine would have been answered by now. At least no ones yet ruled out my guess, a Scimitar based coupe.

You sure it wasn't "somewhere, somwhere in a field in Hampshire..". Were you all sorted for E's and Whizz, at the time?

Come on petemurphy. Have you got locked in the loo on that train (with a Jamaica cake, maybe)?

We are getting no where, this topic will be here next year...found this?flat front, pop up lights, square panel in bonnet.Trouble is I haven't a clue what this is!! We all know the badge on the wing of the mystery car is FURIA but I do not think it is a Furia.I still think a car mad boffin made this, looking like four or five of his favorite models and abandoned it as a joke.

Looks like an altered GMC Gremlin, a lot of similar features though!!

It's apparent, as usual, that peeps don't read the thread properly before replying. If they did, they would find out that a (probable) answer to the mystery was given twenty or so posts back...

You mean the mention of a Fissore prototype ? That's been kicking around in various guises on both threads almost since they appeared. It is not confirmed - there's no picture and the badge doesn't exist anywhere else.

Unless someone comes up with a picture of either or both, it isn't worth the paper it's printed on, IMHO.

The problem is that the car has styling cues from all over the place scattered all over it.

The car in question looks like something from British Car Designer William Towns scrap book. This photo is one of his works,a re bodied E Type called the Guyson E12.If you check out more of Towns`s designs they all have "rasor fronts" etc.Like his Aston Martin Lagonda and others. Do you guys agree??

I think you might be right. If you look at his proposed Jensen Interceptor replacement, the FFF100, there are some similarites, the recessed door handles for instance (or maybe they've dropped off!). Alternatively it could be the work of Chris Humberstone, who did the Owen Sedanca and Rapport Forte.

At last some one agrees with me. By the way I think William Towns started designing door handles at Roots Motors.
