BUT..... What a real shame that didn't make a really Good Informative program about bringing an E Type back from the dead
That would be a 6 month series - at least.Looking at Classic Car magazine price guide, and a concours S2 2+2, rhd, manual is £30k.
Based upon their critera that p.o.s. was worth less than £10k.
The valuer was a bellend.

Absolutely brilliant.
Hopefully the producers will see it for their next series.

My Sagemcom freeview box allows me to record programs for play back later. Having seen the original OP, i set my recorder to pick up the Monday show on CH5. However, when i came to watch it the next day, i noticed that the machine had took it upon itself to record the Monday CH 5+1 show as well. After watching this travesty of program making, I hastily deleted both shows.
Last night, i noticed that the recording light was on again. I hadnt programmed it, so i quickly checked what it was doing. Again, it was recording the repeat on CH5. I quickly stopped the recorder, only to find that an hour later it started to record the +1 show again.
Help!! Make it stop! It seems that the machine has found a way of torturing me with drivel.

Here's the "Technical Consultant" for the show.
Presenter's CV
Check out his academic achievements ... judging by his use of English in his own CV I don't think its a wind-up?
Upton House
EXPELLED FROM SCHOOL, NO DEGREES
1956 – 1960
WHEN I LEFT SCHOOL AT 13, OR EXPELLED I COULD NOT READ AND WRITE. AFTER SERVING AS AN APPRENTICE AT THOMAS AND DRAPER ROLLS ROYCE I LEFT 11 YEARS LATER WITH A MIMI AND M.TECH.ENG QUALIFICATION.... I AM PROUD OF MY ACHIEVEMENTS

Perhaps my comment was in a similar vein to your own comments relating to presenters?

they seem very much sycophants to me
but there's no doubt in my mind about the sack of st, as a person not personality because he was like this well before getting anywhere a camera or national newspaper, and he was/is well educated
From the dates in his CV he is 67. Maybe he should think of retiring.
As to the programme, what a load of rubbish.
The 2 presenters bickering like little children. Mario totally unrealistic in expecting to pay £10k for a running car. "25k-35k for a good car", maybe the top estimate might buy an auto 2+2 but that's all. "An E type for the price of a hatchback", so they think you can get a good E for 10-15k??
Using a rotary grinder to remove paint!! No wonder they had to use filler - to replace the metal they'd ground away. Picking an old bit of exhaust and a shocker out of a skip to use. At the end of the programme they said they'd fitted new shocks!
They said the valuer had sold £20m worth of cars. No, the company he works for has auctioned cars to that value. Slight difference. As he valued it at £30k the competition winner should ask him to pay that for it.
To get a proper cost to restore an E they should have asked Henry Pearman when he appeared later in the programme.
The best part was the archive film.

Yes, it was for the car in the second show... next episode is a 911. dread to think what they will be doing on it.

Thank you for posting the link to that clip, as the 911 is my all time favourite car I'd almost resigned myself to torturing myself by watching next weeks enthralling episode just to see what a hash they could make of one. But that 30 second clip of the pair of wkers talking absolute This clip shows them talking complete st about 911s.

ste has made me realise that life really is too short to waste any more of it on this crap.
And to think I almost insured our rally Mini with Adrian Flux a few weeks ago - I feel I had a lucky escape by choosing a local broker instead, as they must be a really unprofessional organisation to 'sponsor' such a load of drivel. Let alone to offer a £1000 worth of insurance on that shed....
