I wonder how much damage being linked to the programme will do to the sponsors business?
I can see it having a huge detrimental effect on the valuers business, who the fk would trust him and his opinion after that... pretty obvious his positive "professional opinion" and an exaggerated valuation is available at a price if required...

Having rang the headline sponsor programme for insurance quotes on a couple of occasions for classic car policies the style of the presenters fits quite well with the "selling" style of their staff. The terms "mate" and "you won't get a better deal than that" spring to mind.
Maybe Bernie's normally in the call centre?

I didn't have much hope for the show when it comes from Channel 5, but it was very Discovery Channel generic. First they have to have at least two people who will argue in front of the cameras for the drama, add in there must be a deadline for the car to be done and a cut at the ad break with a ' will they won't they make it in time' . Then a last minute drama when the car gets damaged in a badly acted scene - the painter walking out telling them to poke it was badddddd. Then cap it all at the end with them making the grade and getting the car done.
About the only one that I could watch was American Hot Rod. You did at least see more fabrication and restoration work than American Chopper. Sadly that show was aslo spoilt by having to engineer arguements , fake deadlines and dramas too.

Of course the problem now is that thay have us hooked. We'll all watch next week to see:
1) just how many mistakes (factual and restoration wise) will they make?
2) Hiw bad will it be?
3) cant wait to spot the mistakes and list them here. First to 10 wins!
And how many times will they mention "germannn engineeeeeeerin' "

sorry, but anyone genuinely interested in Classics wont bother watching it again, if they do channel 5 might actually make another series and perpetuate mindless programming for the idiot sofa slobs..1) just how many mistakes (factual and restoration wise) will they make?

The wet lipped simpering Canadian spazz was there as they needed someone to make the cockeny tt look like the 'expert'.
After an exhaustive search of the entire UK they realised that even the people on Jeremy Kyle make cockeny tt look stupid so they had to look overseas.
It should come as no surprise that they found their man in North America.

when bernie was on chop shop or whatever it was called they always showed him pottering about amongst ferraris etc . does anybody know if this is true ?
I have some vague memory that he worked at DK Engineering a long, long time ago.Which could explain how DK Engineering got involved in some of his programmes.
From their website:
'The workshops of DK have also featured in “Britain’s best mechanic” and “Chop Shop” both staring Bernie Fineman'

I have never heard of chop shop or Bernie "F" and recorded the first episode expecting to see serious craftsmen at work. After watching the start I honestly thought it was a spoof/comedy sort of thing, pressed fast forward etc etc and was expecting the E type to burst into flames at the end or something like that?.I just can not believe the people that made it were serious.
