If it were not for having too many cars I would be on that 1300 Coupe like a tramp on chips. I would burn the ghastly interior in the public square on day one and fit the tatty one from my donor car. Then I would save the car and make it super lovely, but usable, not showy.

I love almost all Alfas, but the Alfasud doesn't quite do it for me. Wedgy GTV 6, I would. X1/9, one day I must. Italy, eh? It's where cars are from.
Ive got a wedgy GTV 2.0 too smile

X19s are fab, but you need a 1.3

Surely that interior cant be a dealer fit on the 1300.. thats just awful.

Poorcardealer, I'm afraid you have too many cars that I want. As I have yet to own a sud 1.5 from that list I will take that one. How cheap is cheap? my sprint veloce was 400, and my x1/9 was 150 smile
My Alfasud ti was bought last week unseen on ebay for the grand total of £420!

PCD, go for the original green, it's a brill colour. Can you still get the decal set these days?

My dad had a couple of 2.0 GTV Alfettas a while back. They still look good on the rare times you see them now.

I lerrve lightweight sporty cars with small engines. The Alfa GT Junior 1300 is one of the best cars that I have ever driven. They costa bomba these days. I expect that a 1300 Beta, although a bit heavier, and FWD, would still be a delight to drive.

I bought a Bertone 1.3 coupe about 10 years ago on ebay, it was fibreglass shelled completely, a chap did them in the Uk for a while, there is a bit of info on the net about them....the floors were totally rotten and my welder reckoned it was going to be a PITA to do, as some of the fibreglass shell would have to be cut away, so I sold it 6 months after I bought it....would think it would be valuable now, wish I still had it as any Bertone GTV is ££££s these days....love that yellow/mustard colour they do them in

As for the Volumex, it's really rather splendid to drive, and feels both modernish and old. The handling is sharp, the brakes are powerful, and the supercharged two litre engine delivers urge all across the rev range and excellent overtaking power. Power steering and a well set up five speed gearbox make the car pleasant in town and as a cruiser as well as when flinging it about on B roads. I am getting about 22 to 25 mpg ish.
I concur. From memory I averaged about 22mpg (down to 18mpg if feeling playful...). Still miss it.

Mine pictured just before I sold it in 1990:

By the way, I am thinking of re spraying the HPE. I don't think that red is the best colour for it, and rather fancy this gunmetal approach:-
That was the colour of mine, Grigio Metallico. A mate at work had the IE in red, used to turn heads when we parked up next to each other.

Great photos, thanks for sharing them. I like the side detail.

I am going to try to get the blower and front seats and tail spoiler, at the least, from the VX that is on eBay. The kit car and old MG gang do not appear to have spotted it yet, but if they do the price will go wahoo. The blower alone can go for 1500 quid. If the car is to be looted and not saved, better it be looted to benefit a sister Lancia than some old cart, I reckon. My blower is fine at present , but when they go they can be a pain to put right, so a spare one can be a bonus, even if you have to use two to make one good one.

Poor Car Dealer, one for you?

£1,500 for a half worn out blower??? That's three times what I paid for my first HPE!

The blowers are sought after by the hot Fiat crowd, and also by the early MG crowd, and by kit car types also.
