Now I want a Saab 99 Turbo, complete with the amazing orangey-red interior that they tended to have. There was one knocking about the auctions not so long ago.
Was a "barn find" and did circa £6K !Was at Thruxton HSCC Easter Revival today and there was a Beta competing in the 70's Roads Sports (didn't do well) and a really nice Monte Carlo in the car park - so small and well designed in comparison to a contemporary Capri.
As this has become the repository of all things Lancia there is a Beta Spyder in the next Coys Auction:

Oh now you're talking. My dad ran a black one with the orange interior for several years back in the eighties- brilliant car. Epic lag but when it came on boost very entertaining.
Lovely saab quirks, floor position ignition, heated seats (1979 car ffs), engine back tofrfront chain driven gearbox, seat belt swing clips and that boost gauge!
Really solid car, very cool.
My parents had one too, a red two-door. My mum set the school run record in it – 10½ miles of narrow, blind-cornered Wiltshire lanes in 9 minutes. I know those roads well now and I wouldn't dream of attempting to match it!Lovely saab quirks, floor position ignition, heated seats (1979 car ffs), engine back tofrfront chain driven gearbox, seat belt swing clips and that boost gauge!

Windscreen wiper excitements today. The wiper on the nearside suddenly bailed out while I was hooning on a dual carriageway in rain. The wiper hurtled over the roof and landed some way back (no following traffic to clonk, luckily). No tape in car, and no tape on sale at any garage, so I used the patented bin liner mod to prevent screen scratchage by the metal arm. Me, classy, me.
Here is the car when it had two wipers, at a friend's posh house earlier on.

Got my X19 1.3 back from the panel beater today and its now rust free...there was a rust bubble the size of a 50p on the bit above the rear window, ended up been over a foot long hole that had been filled (!)...all cut out and replaced with metal, along with 2 new door bottoms and various other repairs...it still wont start so was towed to my painter, still cant decide if its going to be orange or that bright green...

As rare as can be. I don't remember seeing one for over a decade and I am familiar with Thema and Croma models.
Ive just looked on the 'how many left' website and they seem to have been in single figures on the road for five years. It suggests that there are currently about half a dozen SORNed and one taxed. As FIAT is a mainstream manufacturer and there is only one Turbo model it is probably close to being accurate.

Is it this one?

No, it's met blue on a D plate, that would be a very early one.
