Modern (1997 Dare G4) dwarfed by classic (1970 Mini)

Snapped a Ginetta at the Ace Cafe a few years ago:

It is tiny!

Crikey - I never knew 2000GTs were so small

Beautiful lines, but spoilt in my opinion, by those wing mirrors.

They are tiny indeed. I'm not a huge fan of the wing mirrors but I think I could live with them personally. Two more pictures of one.

I read somewhere that the special convertible 2000GT was built specifically for the 007 film 'You Only Live Twice' because Sean Connery couldn't fit in the standard coupe version.

To put the mirrors in context most cars of the era (1960s) had wing mirrors, door mirrors were a later fixture.
I remember standing on the drive adjusting my dads ones on his austin 1800 as he shouted left right up down. They did nothing for rust either, car wings always rusted where the mirrors were, newspaper cardboard and filler being the cure!

Beautiful car though,i'll forgive it.

I went to the London Classic Car Show yesterday and the Toyota 200 looked big compared to the Honda S800 next to it.

And the indescribably awkward-looking Toyota Sports 800 eek

Not the best angle given that the classic is almost completely hidden behind the modern, but seems like it is the only angle available.
