children are growing taller and taller. I used to be of average height at 5 feet ten inches, but increasingly feel like a short arse.
This is true, my dad was 5'7" and I'm 5'9". I have 2 sons, a step-son and a son in law and they are all over 6' the tallest is 6'2"... I feel like a dwarf when out with them all Edited by mph1977 on Saturday 12th March 11:56

If the trend continues, we're all going to need HGV licences soon... it can't continue, can it?
I believe you already did need one if you drove one of the bigger Maybachs in pre-war Germany.More to the point these behemoths already take up a large proportion of the permissible Maximum Train Weight before you hitch up the trailer with an old car on it.

(I believe that's how the BIB refer to it)

finally a post that tis somewhat in line with the spirit of the original posts , as a lot of the recent ones ( barring the rover SD1 vs BMW ) have been comparing very different segement vehicles Edited by andyps on Wednesday 23 March 16:38

Very true, except I would have put the Alfa as a segment above the Focus - wasn't it a Sierra/Mondeo competitor when new? Thinking a Ford competed with an Alfa seems just wrong, of course!
although arguably sizes have moved up a class in that period , hence the reason everyone has a car smaller than the one wearing the supermini badge and the 'family car' position once held by cavaliers and sierras and held by astra and focus etc ... Edited by andyps on Wednesday 23 March 16:38

Oops, sorry for posting the picture of my MG J2 next to a Grand Cherokee. I really thought that it was about posting pictures of a classic car that is dwarfed by a modern car... My mistake, sorry again.FYI: in the first post (ie: the spirit of the original post) there is a picture of an AC 3000 with a tall Polo and a vast Focus. Not really the same segement, is not it?
