It was at the North west monthly meet on Sunday, I never got chance to chat with the owners.

Some more pics here, maybe some of the decals might help?

930 Turbo and 997 Turbo - approx 30 years between them, with an early red 911 (poss 912) in background looking rather slimline.

I said that to the 930 owner, but will never part with mine, it does so much so well. Mind you what great pair to have, he said buy one and it has crossed my mind several times since.

Hardly surprising that an original Mini is alot smaller than that Vectra.

your car can do most better ofcorse and I bet it drives better as well biggrin
but those old models have something, today on our Dutch car forum they posted also a lovely Porsche picture, I love the 2.8 RSR looks or the ST looks.

this one they posted today and I love it, although would make that 3d pipe different and fill those 2 'pipe' holes.

but this is nice too>

It looks like the bloke driving the e-Type is looking directly at the windshield frame. Are those cars suitable for tall people?
Oh absolutely. The headroom goes all the way up to the sky! Here's my late friend, all 6ft 7ins of him, driving my E-type.

This was taken a few years ago, but this was my wifes and her bosses Minis. It looks like they chose the colours to match but it is purely coincidental......

The problem with all of these classic cars sat next to a modern 4x4 is that it's not really a fair comparison because the vehicles are not like for like.

You could Park a modern MX5, BMW Z4, Lotus Elisse etc., etc, next to most of these 4x4's and they would look tiny in comparison (especially if you look at something like a Toyota Landcruiser!).

Stick a Honda Beat next to a 70's Range rover and the Range Rover will look huge!

The Mini next to the MINI is a much better comparison, as are the FIAT 500's together, the Porsche 911's together etc., etc.

Put an Austin 7 next to a modern Ford Fiesta, a MK1 Ford Cortina next to a modern Ford Mondeo or a MK1 Escort next to a modern Ford Focus, now that is a much fairer comparison!

When I first had a 944 & 968 (when I was a lad), they were a reasonably large car. Now theyre dwarfed by most cars, including my girlfriends Astra!

Not exactly a classic I know but still an example of new Vs old.

I may have posted this picture earlier in the thread but I'm not sure.

My classic behind my cousin's pick-up. Partly due to perspective, but that red thing was HUGE

Next time you see him, take a shot from the back of the Rangie - they'll probably be about the same size!
