991 and 911

991 is a super-bloater, I've seen very few on the roads.

Small. Far away. Again

That Porsche pic though, I know the angles will have something to do with it, but the overhangs at the front are a big difference, the headlights are just about lined up, and the 991 bumper is much further forward.

At least it fits in the parking space left by the overgrown moderns!

The Aston Martin's not exactly being "dwarfed" by the FIAT is it? scratchchin

(And by the same token, the FIAT's not exactly being "dwarfed" by the Aston Martin!)

That's more a case of: "A classic parked next to a modern"

Perhaps not literally..

The point is, the modern Fiat fits into the subcompact supermini group, whereas the classic Aston Martin is a luxury GT car. When you consider the similarity in size, then in a sense, the modern does in fact dwarf the classic scratchchin

Precisely. The Fiat 500, I've been told, is far too small for the weekly shopping run confused

The Aston would've been the king of the road in its day, the Fiat is a small hatch now.

Or am I missing a whoosh parrot...?!

Sort of (I think!). The way I see it, the Aston was designed as a GT - something you could get in and drive from London to Monaco without breaking sweat. The Fiat is designed as a small family car i.e. something to pick up the kids from school or to go shopping in etc - not something to cross continents. In this respect, the Fiat does sort of dwarf the Aston.

But not much in it - Aston - 1676mm. Fiat - 1627mm

I'n not sure whether this is a fair comparison, but I spotted these two in Clarence Park, Weston-super-Mare a couple of weeks ago. I know which I'd rather drive...
