This one made me laugh yesterday (also sent the want-o-meter off the chart; rust, primer, scrap on the rear seats and straight through pipes)
Daimler 250 in modern traffic.
Made me laugh this morning. Cool Daimler V8 burbling through the streets. It's like a scene from Withnail And I.Daimler 250 in modern traffic.

nope didn't miss it at all, BMW took the MINI from helping Rover and the idea of boutique selling and styling (as did FIAT for the modern 500) from smart (small 's')
even the smart has got bigger from original
RichB - I think of them as MINI MAXIs although I suspect the Maxi would be smaller than some of the range
I think of it as a reinvented Morris Minor disguised as a reinvented Mini. Not a criticism by the way.even the smart has got bigger from original

This photo is a bit old, but there is nothing new under the sun!
Taken at RMA Sandhurst outside Junior term Huts behind New College in 1958 I think.
The back of my A7 was level with the back bumper of the Impala, The A7 cost £25 (we wuz robbed)and the Chevvy was owned by a Kuwaiti Prince (or something).

Reminds me of a time years ago when a friends 3 year freaked out at a his brothers party (didn't like clowns) so I offered to take him back to our place till the party was over. His dad was somewhat taken aback when the little one refereed to my X300 as a little car, I guess it was half the height of their Mum's taxi. How about a modern dwarfed by a classic?

Wow, it's good to see a Wizzkid on the thread. They're lovely cars, but so rare now. They were always tiny though!
Lovely ? I bought one new in 1980 and it was utterly dire. Let me see- engine cutout on brisk cornering , seats with no support whatsoever, woefully unreliable, wheezy little engine , a nightmare in sidewinds and with all the build quality of a baked bean tin. Swapped it for a used Alfasud and my world changed for the better overnight. Why did I buy the Whizzkid? Glowing road test in a a magazine - Motor I think- and I thought girls would like it more than my 2CV - they did. Bit cramped inside was the SC100..... david.h said:
