An MX5 mk1 is a dainty little thing ...
... Now someone get me an Elan I can park it next to
Small though the Mk 1 MX-5 is, it still dwarfs the Elan it was based on. I parked mine next to one in the at Castle Combe paddock a few years back, but forgot to take a photo.... Now someone get me an Elan I can park it next to
Actually the MX-5 is one of the few cars that hasn't got fatter over the years, the new Mk 4 is hardly bigger.

Are they based on the Elan? I thought the development team run a fleet of MGBs to get the feel of a British sports car?
Quite clearly the body design has always been based on the Elan. I don't know about the mechanicals. Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
