Not quite dwarfed but the Daimler was a large car in its day. Taken at the PH Sunday Service at Ginetta in December:

Let's be honest here, a Lotus/Caterham 7 is roughly the size of a bath tub with wheels attached! - Everything dwarfs it!
What do you mean?

Christ on a bike! - If that Cadillac was in a collision with that Lotus 7, would the Caddy driver even notice it! confused

Are they based on the Elan? I thought the development team run a fleet of MGBs to get the feel of a British sports car?
In which universe is an MGB a sports car? Mazda knew better than to model the MX 5 on one of those stinkers! [Runs away]

It is a pity that the MX 5 later went on to become bloated and heavy and all the things that it wasn't supposed to be.

How many cars can you think of which haven't?
Can anyone think of an example other than the RX7 where the new model was smaller and lighter than the one it replaced?

Previous ones got bigger, but the new MX-5 is similar dimensions and not far off the weight of the original, which is good going with all the modern safety stuff included.

I'm just recalling a story on a local paper when I lived in Worthing. There was a car design place down there (I forget the name) that I believe did the original design project for the MX5.

That'll be IAD that later became WTC (Worthing Technical Centre) under Daewoo and finally part of TWR before closing.

Two-door Volvo 242 GT on the right! I had one of those during a brief stay in the US.

Posted this a few weeks ago in the supercars spotted thread, but thought it also deserved a place here, and the lady in heels is an added bonus

Hardly dwarfed though is it? It's substantially wider than every car in the street laugh
