Airchamber or Carcoon Veloce?
Discussion
another vote for the carcoom veloce
absolutely no issues
on a funny note , when I was buying it the sales chap said he had a client who had one set up in his garage , next to a car parked outside ,
a postman arrived who was of African origin , and pointed at the garage and said "what's that " ?? " Its a "CAR. ".COON !!
There was a pause and a very angry postman , before the client showed him the side and in bold letters "CARCOON "
the postie saw the funny side

i'm spying a very nice step front Alfa 105 there, some details if poss :-)
Its a 1970 GT Junior. Just had full nut and bolt restoration. Just having a 1600 engine made up with fast cams at the moment to put in it. Still keeping the 1300 original engine for originality. Before
After

Hi There
Found the thread full of good info have to say.
Has anyone got a Carcoon size 4 for sale as looking at going this route for my car.
Thanks
Paul
If they have, it will be within £50.00 of a new one.........these rarely drop in value!Found the thread full of good info have to say.

However, you should get a 10% deal off a new one if you belong to most car clubs.

I'm thinking of putting another one in an open car port that will get some rain on the end of it when the wind is blowing in. Will see how that goes.
Now the thread has been re-started, did you ever do this? I'm thinking of putting another one in an open car port that will get some rain on the end of it when the wind is blowing in. Will see how that goes.
I'll shortly be looking to have one of these under an open car port and I'd be interested in views or experiences.

I've a large Carcoon and it has been a great success but next year I shall change to a Veloce. If you use your car you need a Veloce, if you don't use it in winter a Carcoon will do.
That's the kind of advice I need. I use mine a lot, but it isn't entirely waterproof so needs to be covered but easy to get in and out. Sounds like a Veloce will be just the thing. CharlesdeGaulle said:

Tried it for a while but the exposed end misted up when it rained. I think it would be OK if your car port was a bit longer and the rain didn't come in, I'll shortly be looking to have one of these under an open car port and I'd be interested in views or experiences.

I bought another Airchamber recently and the less than detailed instructions have had a bit of a revamp and the poles are colour coded now.
One point I noted, which I hadn't noticed before, was that they advise driving in nose first. Because otherwise you could melt the back out of the chamber with hot exhaust gasses..
Never thought of that.

Is it one with a frame? If so, I might be interested.
No frame = Carcoon, with frame = Veloce, and this model hasn't been out for nearly as many years as the Carcoon. I'm not knocking the Carcoon, since it does its job most efficiently, but a Veloce is more usable. I went to the garage yesterday, having left the door open to reduce humidity ( my new dehumidifier should arrive today) and found, as seen above, the car was in fine condition.Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
