he advised and I agreed to just get it roadworthy and legal in standard form and "see how it performs"
then build the power plant
Despite I'm not too keen on sensible, that doesn't sound a bad plan. Though as with all the turbo engines I've owned, the temptation for 'More' is never far away. then build the power plant

Yep, that's the addictive bit for me. Just a little more boost and bit more whooaaaaarrp!!
That said, I can't imagine your MG weighing more than about 800kg so It'll go like a starship with 200bhp.
from what I have worked out so far, with all the add-ons and custom stuff going into it, it will probably weigh just over 1000Kgs which is still light. That said, I can't imagine your MG weighing more than about 800kg so It'll go like a starship with 200bhp.
Putting my 330 up for sale tonight so hopefully it'll sell wuick so I can blitz this and get it on the road for summer

Just a quick question regarding crank pulley / steering rack clearance. When the engine is running and under load, with engine movement, will 10mm clearance (whilst off and stationary) remain 10mm?
I asked myself that question, the response I got was:"haven't a clue but we'll see"
I would think the movement is going to be more sideways than forward/backwards. I'll be putting a small stabilizing bar from the chassis to the eninge so hopefully that will limit the movement a little more.

I like that approach!
The way I look at it is, atm nothing is certain to work perfectly or last the course. Best way to figure out any niggles is to get it going then see what needs modifying. That way when I come to put the fire breathing monster engine in it should be near enough perfect
It is a development project after all

loving this matey, some cool fabrication going on there.
thanks beedz.I have a dilemma at the moment,
I've set the car up now in place to work away on it, hopefully quickly. But, I'm rebuilding the front suspension this week and can't decide what colour to paint the calipers I'm rebuilding. Yellow or Red?
