My previous projects proved mildly difficult to find, (Hunter GLS five years, Audi 200 5T four years) so I'm looking for something a little more challenging for my next one. smile
Doomed from the start, ugly but also underrated and quite capable.
And the sound of the triple carbed V6 cloud9
The hunt begins for a RHD Talbot Tagora SX.....sonar

I remember going with my Dad to the launch of that car at our local Talbot dealer.

Can't help you with a car, but I've got a factory workshop manual if you want it.

Good luck with that then - 'Expected' sales were 60,000 per year - in reality 19,403 were sold (worldwide) during 4 years of production. By 2007 there were supposedly only 10 examples still registered in the UK.

Oh, and yes, I'd like one too wink

You'd better get behind me in the queue. I've been looking for the holy grail of Tagoras for many years.

My dad had various models including 2.2 GLs and GLSs but never an SX.

I loved the shape but finding a usable rhd one will be tough.

I think I have a brochure somewhere, with a fetching wallpaper-effect cover IIRC.

And blow me down but I came up behind one - in the usual diluted faeces brown - about a month back. First I've seen in 20 years or more, but I can't say I have exactly mourned.

danoli, I'm only going to say this once. Forget it!

I carried out warranty work on these abominations and there was not one single car that ever ran properly.

I spent days on one trying everything to get it to run properly and finally got an admission from Talbot that they had a batch of carbs of an unknown quantity that had porous bodies. They got to a certain temperature and the body of the carb became porous and the fuel flooded the manifold!

Everything fell to bits on them; they were absolutely the worst car I have ever encountered. You have been warned!

Never liked these nor saw the point of them. The Peugeot was way better looking.

I wish you the best of luck in finding one. It could take quite a while.
