How rare is this Jaguar Coupe?
Discussion
shame its a scam as last year a 95 point Red Coupe was sold at Auction for over £33k!!! The same month a 2 owner low mileage (I recall 60k or so) went for around £11k, which seems good value. These coupes are becoming sought after now. The nicest I've seen is as chap in Finland who totally rebuilt and modernised his.

Peter Hugo is currently building one, from the ground up, with the AJ6. Looks resplendent in Midnight blue...
That's the one, they didn't start it, but its ended up with them to get finished. Going to look nice when its done.Would be even nicer with the XJR's AJ16S under the bonnet.
Spoke to Peter the other day, he was back at work, both him and Chris have been in the wars of late.
There's nowt new in the world. Here's Ron Lea at Prescott 1996 with his fibreglass RAM D-type. It has an XJR 4 litre under the bonnet and it goes like the wind!

OK
so I emailed the 'owner' and requested some more pics including the interior front and back and the engine bay.
His response was ' Only have a few on a mates laptop and he is on holiday'
as first suspected
Scam
Ive got some and ive been in conversation with the fella. Making the arrangements to go up there to view. Believe me no money will change hands until ive seen it in the flesh and with the relevent documents. Worst case a day out of my life and a couple of hundred quid out of pocket, best case, slam in my charged V8, gearbox and back axle.........so I emailed the 'owner' and requested some more pics including the interior front and back and the engine bay.

Scam
I'll keep you posted

Is this the one that seems to keep showing up in ads for the last couple of years?Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Does sound interesting, all that torque in such a light car.
well, that was an epic 24hrs!!
Friday night after work load the Eunos up with 'er indoors and a spare pair......1st stop Crewe, 11pm, for a Travelodge "experience", tho for £38 I cant complain.
early rise and a fill up of Unleaded, Costa-lot coffee and pastries for a 7am start. Quick stop at Carlisle to jettison said coffee and arrived at Motherwell at 10:15.
Met the vendor who turned out to be a nice genuine fella, pulled the car out and after changing a wheel, due to a flat tyre, went for a thorough test drive. This XJ-c is really strong, pulls well, engages kickdown, steers and stops as it should. Hot and cold starting, no problem, all windows operate as they should, if a little slow and the bodywork could only be described as remarkable. One bonnet hinge is "redundant" but once down the bonnet sits perfectly. Inner & outer sills solid, scuttles & bulkhead solid, few battle scars here and there but all superficial. interior needs a clean and a leather treatment. headlining is still up there which is more than I can say for my 3 XJR's!!
Original wheels and hubcaps are present and included in the sale, they will go straight back on. 4no Pepperpots for sale anyone??
Needless to say a deal was struck and one of my all time wish list cars is in my possession..........now to get it MoT'd and really find out what im in for, but hey sometimes you gotta take a chance.
Departed 12;30 and ragged to Penrith, coming off the M6 to have lunch at Ullswater. from there to Lake Windemere across a great twisty pass, held up by a couple on a touring bike wanting to view the surroundings at 20mph.....muppets.
Departed Windemere at 5pm and was back on Hayling for 10;30 with a pit stop for dinner.......Hectic.
I will keep you posted on developments with the car over on the Jaguar forum.

Delivered today at 2pm and set about it with the Autoglym! Needs a thorough clean up on the interior but thats a job for the weekend. To me a well worthy visit to Glasgow. Next step is a full MoT to identify any problems though it does drive superbly well considering its 10 year slumber. The vendor cleaned out the tanks and fitted some new fuel lines, serviced the carbs, added a battery and it starts and runs on the button. Brake fluid was renewed and the brakes eased off to ensure it stops the same.
Im glad i took the chance on this because i now own one very sweet and solid XJ-c
