Correct. Shared the same floor pan as the 33 to cut down build costs.I has an early 1500 Sprint Veloce as my second ever car back in 1984. Loved it although the electrics had a mind of their own and it did suffer with a bit of corrosion. Sadly it got written off by an old prat in an Escort who wanted the bit of road that I was in. Head on.
I have also raced a 33 in CSCC tin Tops 40 min races and a later Sprint (belonging to Mike Watson) in a 6 hour race. They handle brilliantly and are great fun. The later Sprint had 180 Bhp. Awesome.
A couple more to reminisce over, mustard one was my first car, had the Veloce engine, loved it but KIA when some dopey Doris pulled out in front of me on the A22. Black Sprint was the replacement, prettier IMHO but I never felt it went quite as well as the first one.
Spending my weekends with a can of Isopon must have had a lasting impact, firmly hooked on GRP bodywork these days

I do there are lying under my desk at work after it took me a while to find them!
Have not decided to sell yet and have had a fair few offers for them but the cost a fortune when I got them but have now sold the early sprint I had earmarked for.

I had a T-reg 1.3TI just like that at university in the mid 80s, only mine was orange with a tan vinyl roof. Looked better than it sounds. Went all over the country in it, did about 20,000 miles in a year before the floors and sills fell to bits. Never let me down, never failed to start first time. Always liked the look of the first 'sud, and the thought of owning one was tempting.
However.
My main memory of one is being on a french campsite,circa 1978. Mid mornings, heading for the beach.
Alfasud owner in next door tent spends 10 mins cranking his engine, every time to start it up.
My dad's capri went first time.
Never did get a sud.
Always liked the look of the first 'sud, and the thought of owning one was tempting.
However.

Memories of my 1700 CloverLeaf Sprint? Great handling and very quick with the Brunswick Motorsport engine fitted, Konis allround ensured fabulous handling.After a few years I had heard of the 6c and plans were made to replicate one.Best laid plans etc-to much work not enough free time-usual story but I regret not doing it.An Italian friend has one of the originals and swears by it handling and performance, oh, and the sound it makes-no, he will NEVER sell it!!!!

Glad that you enjoyed your Sprint Terence - and could you ask your Italian friend to post some pics of his 6C, I have only ever seen pics of two 6C's.It was just one of those cars I'de have no problem owning again.Bought it at the Alfa Owners Club do at Duxford one year.For sale sign in the window of a gorgeous black version.We waited for the owner to come back, so did a woman who wanted the car.She tried to bid the owner down so I offered an extra £100 and the car was mine! Ex concourse winner with full service history, it was worth the 3, 700 paid.Collected it from Oxford the following tuesday.
Unfortunately the lucky Italian xxxxxxx is working in the UAE for six months and doesnt hsve any available photos with him.
He had friends at Alfa Romeo, that might have helped! Lol
