Bit of a thread revival, but the most expensive R107 bar has been raised a bit...

Big tick for Midnight n Mushroom colour combo.
I've hardly see any in this colour combo before, I do look out for it because it's exactly what I have, 904 blue with 275 interior. I've only ever seen the interior described as 'pebble' before I thought mushroom was a more grey colour (I see Brabus say "Leder champignon" though). It's easy to find colour charts for the exterior colours but I've not seen anything very comprehensive for the interior trim.bosscerbera said:

But it's a 227bhp smog motor.
I fancy a 560 R107 - in these colours - but with the full 300bhp.
Whilst the W126 560 SEL/C came with the full fat 300 bhp, the 560SL only went to Aus, Japan and the USA and hence, I think they all had the strangled 227 bhp motor. I had a quick look on line and I turned up one 560SL for sale with not 300, but 314 horses, however, the irony is that it's actually a US car complete with the gruesome bumpers so almost 200% guaranteed to have the strangled engine! But it's a 227bhp smog motor.

Could you get a lhd, Euro spec 560 SL special order (ie with the Euro engine) or were they all fitted with the strangled engine? The Brabus car above is Euro spec, lhd with a kilometer speedo, and yet has a US engine weedier than the contemporary 500SL!!

Or buy an AMG 129 and get 400+ bhp as standard....
Just a thought.
I don't like 129s.Just a thought.
A 560SL in midnight/mushroom, on Lorinser LOs, would match my 560SEL.

Nearly bought a 129 for LadyB8 first time around, a great car, but the 107 has an elegance its successor lacks IMHO.
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The only one I have any time for, and then only to look at, is the Pagoda. Driven one, it's st. My SL60AMG is an extraordinary car. Looks good, has 400 + bhp, will throw you back when you put your foot down, but will behave like a lamb in traffic. Not many cars will do that. Still. I'm getting too old, she has to go

Top trolling; popping into a thread about a specific model and saying why yours is better. Well done.
Oh, and I have noticed you blowing your SL60 trumpet on a couple of boards for months. Nobody cares as much as you think they do.
Hardly trolling, show me the evidence of my trumpeting.Oh, and I have noticed you blowing your SL60 trumpet on a couple of boards for months. Nobody cares as much as you think they do.
As for who cares about what, you're way off beam.
I note you have a 129 too. Which drives better, your 129 or your 170?
By the way, you really don't need to be so unpleasant. Lowers the tone.

I think 107's were some of the ugliest useless rusts bucket MB ever made......but hey, wouldn't it be boring if we all thought the same.IanA2 said:

I shortlisted a new SL60 in 1995. The engine's a sledgehammer, tremendous. But aside from the thrust, the driving experience wasn't a whole lot different to my S-Class. So I bought a sports car.I don't really understand why you're in this thread when you have such a low opinion of R107s and, it seems, W113 Pagodas. (I've one of the latter in the garage which, for the record, drives beautifully.)
Would anyone be kind enough to post pics of the inside of their soft top roof? I had one fitted and think the straps that go length ways above the driver and passenger head are not installed correctly. It also looks like i need to go around it with contact adhesive neating up things. Many thanks,
Rohan
