Well, the ad does say it has a scheckheftgepflegt, and I think we can all agree that's worth a bob or two.
Not worth quite as much as bauchkribbeln though.

I've had quite good results on blue Mercedes leather in my old SEC and on cream Jaguar seats with Furniture Clinic colouring polish. They do restoration products too if the leather is damaged, but on the face of it a decent restoring polish will bring those up nicely.

I've seen a 107 for sale that I like the look of but it's in the UK and I am currently working abroad.

Does anyone happen to know an expert who would be prepared to travel and view it for me? It's in the Oxford area. A google search brings up a few inspection companies but it's hard to know which ones are worth using.

Thanks

Steve Griffin, MercTec on the MB Club site, is based near Redditch and he does inspections. He's extraordinarily knowledgeable, but I'm not sure if he travels to cars or only inspects ones that are delivered to him. He checked over mine (and I was impressed with him) but my car was trailored to him.

Whoever you choose, make sure they know the 107 specifically; I wouldn't want to rely on a general vehicle inspection for something with the potential to hide very big bills.

Thanks, and totally agree on the need for a specialist!

I used a generic classic car inspection guy prior to my purchase. Whilst still worth it, they missed some issues which were a bit costly but 107 specific (worst was a dash out job to fix part of the heating, knowing what I do now, the out the 'specialist' I used to fix it didn't know all the foibles and could have done it another way).

Not local to me, Roger Edwards in Amersham is the closest I can think of to Oxford - they do concentrate more on the Pagoda I think though.

If you are in the Mercedes Benz club, they have a directory published quarterly alongside the monthly magazine which gives you access to a network of insurance valuer volunteers as well as the forum which might give you better suggestions. There is a 107 facebook group too (not connected with the club), worth asking about local specialists on there.

Long ownership and low miles, but white! 25 grand.

I quite like it in white. Why do advertisers say £xxxx - as stated? What does "as stated" mean?
Non-negotiable?

It's a quirk of C&C.

I'm not keen on white cars in general, but that one does look pretty good.

Good news is that according to the ad the engine was running sweetly before it was laid up....

As with all 107's I'd be checking for vague steering and tappet noise on that.

I wonder what happened to the barn?

I think a reputable dealer would advise a discerning buyer that as long as it had full history and genuine low mileage it would be an excellent investment. The last thing you want is something that's been properly used.

Anyone fancy a project? 10k, but quite a bit of work needed.

SS Motors in Addlestone/Weybridge are MB specialists and had a few R107s in when I visited.

Colin Ferns in Richmond.

Neither will be the cheapest but R107s aren't going to be budget motoring. There are stories of people from the SE who take their cars all the way to Redditch and see Steve Griffith (Merctec) who seems to be considered the guru.
