Single mirror, no headrest, keep fit windows and clock in the centre of the dash - that is a super early one!

Found my original post of 10 years ago!!

Anyway, the R107 was one car i really regretted selling so i was fortunate enough to find another 300SL earlier this year. Must use it more in 2024 rather than the few hundred miles it covered!

That’s lovely! Private or dealer? Mate of mine has a 450SL he gets out occasionally …

Dealer (John Haynes) One lady owner from new, now retired from driving. Looked after by John Haynes in Worthing for the last 20 years. Anthracite over grey leather.

Well that’s a blast from the past, still got mine but now with a massive 15k miles on it as I have used for 2 trips to france and the LMC last year.
Still as lovely as ever so long as your in no rush to get anywhere lol.
Also managed to pick up a watch to go with it, albeit for a 450.

My '81 500SL has been sitting under my covered car port for 8 years, gets a start once or twice a year. Run it up to coolant temp, up and down the drive, and then it goes back to sleep again.

I need to recommission it, since it's now MOT free and £0 VED, early spring and then "for sale". Hard to put a price on it, since it's not concours, very little tin worm (clean bulkhead). They seem to go for anywhere between £5-£35k?

Completely original, other than replacement front wings and rear arches.
