I am, but on the day, I hope.
After weeks of feeling smug using my Elise as a daily with no issues at all while you and others struggled to get your cars ready...this morning it dumped a 2 foot by 3 foot puddle of hydraulic fluid on the road.
To add insult to injury this was 30 minutes before my ZT 260 was collected by it's new owner, now leaving me without any working car at all.
I suspect the clutch but as the clutch and brakes share the same reservoir and as the engine bay is a very hot place I'm not going to drive it anywhere and am going to try and get the car recovered to a garage on Monday.
Wish me luck getting it sorted!
If its never been replaced, it'll probably be the clutch hydraulic hose. They're a lovely high quality clear plastic item that hardens/softens/splits/melts or generally gives up the will to contain hydraulic fluid. Easy enough job to replace. Second most likely possibility is that the "beautifully hewn by Rover" clutch slave cylinder has got all giddy at the prospect of a track day and its seals can no longer contain its fluid so its wet itself. Again, readily available and very easy to replace. After weeks of feeling smug using my Elise as a daily with no issues at all while you and others struggled to get your cars ready...this morning it dumped a 2 foot by 3 foot puddle of hydraulic fluid on the road.

Cheers for that, that's what I thought from reading up and also where it's leaked from. Plan is to try and get the RAC to drag it to JCT on Monday. Will cost more to fix but less for recovery than taking to an independent as they're all at least 20 miles from me. I know that loads fix these as DIY jobs but it's not for me!
Well, I've fitted a new exhaust, chopped out the innards of the airbox, done an oil change, run 2 tanks of redex, fitted a 12v source and completed a whole host of other little jobs. Expensive these track days!
My car has always run rich due to the wrong jets (Gromit), so thought a power run on a rolling road would show if my latest additions have made good on the overfueling. The results are that the AFR is spot on, its making good torque immediately, and runs just shy of 100hp at 5900rpm, which is about right for a stock motor. It was taken up to 6500 with no knocking, so now have peice of mind for Friday. Can't wait - hope the weathers good.

To be fair it's been good all year. Typical it wets itself a) the moment I don't have a spare car, b) days before a Trackday I've been looking forward to all year, and c) right in the middle of holiday season when all the garages are understaffed
It's with a garage I trust with a k-series now and in the meantime I've hired a shiny little i10 to get around in. Obviously I don't need to ask if that's eligible for Friday...
I booked to join this as I wanted to roar round in the Keeble. The Keeble is not finished.
My fall back plan was a Chimaera I hadn't bought. So I bought one. And sold it. It was st.
And bought an XJ6, which I could bring, but a number of other things are conspiring against me, so 'aahm oot'.
I know...hang my head in shame. What a limp wristed wuss. Berate me as you will.
I'll leave it to Crack Fox to deal with the space if anybody wants it.

100hp from what kind of engine? And at the rear wheels, or flywheel? I only ask because my 1750 was on a rolling road a few months ago and it would be interesting to see how they compare. My car has always run rich due to the wrong jets (Gromit), so thought a power run on a rolling road would show if my latest additions have made good on the overfueling.
