Well done Benny for slipping into the breach as it were.

I email foxy and said to send any proceeds from my slot to BEN (the motor trade charity).

100hp from what kind of engine? And at the rear wheels, or flywheel? I only ask because my 1750 was on a rolling road a few months ago and it would be interesting to see how they compare.
Well, it is a step front 1300GTJ body, but with a later 1750 Alfetta engine fitted by the previous owner. The reading was at the wheels, and it is a stock block which was rebuilt in 2006, with a drilled airbox and Alfaholics stainless system (sounds v nice). Tbh, I just wanted to know that it wasn't running too rich, and get some idea of the power curves - not chasing power.

What did yours make? Book rating for the 1750 is 122bhp I think?

Erm, I almost certainly should have been clearer with my post above...

Blyton have had enough of chopping and changing so essentially we've agreed to now leave it perfectly as it was at the beginning of this week. The 3 drop-outs so far will not be being replaced sadly, it is already oversubscribed.

For the first timers, things you want to bring on Friday:

Driving licence

Some oil, a little one is fine (unless you really burn the stuff)

Drinking water (lots, you'll need it)

A full tank of fuel

Trousers and long sleeve top

Any tools/spares you think sensible

Also:

When you've been out on track DON'T put your handbrake on, just leave it in gear (or better yet in neutral with a rock under a tyre)

Mere words cannot express how gutted I am that I can't go to this now. The CSi is raring to go and I'd love to have seen all the other kit that will be there.
I'm just snowed under with too many other commitments.
Have fun all.... and don't give Ben too much of a hard time if he spends a lot of time in an E12 facing in the wrong direction... or pirouetting ungracefully. He'll obviously blame the car but he has history smile

Love these!

I guess they can only run rich with these big carbs fitted! Glorious sound, but maybe setup without the pops and bangs. I found the EFI cars so much more refined and also they come with a broader powerband.

If it pops and bangs (on gentle throttle or the overrun) check your exhaust manifold gaskets.

and @ corporal sparrow, you can not compare the results on one rolling road with another, and there are so many other variables making any comparison between your car and another totally meaningless.
Put your two cars on the same rolling road, on the same tyres with the same pressures, in the same gear, one after the other and you will get a comparison.

Thanks to all, especially Rich (the disorganiser), for a great day out.
An eclectic mix of motors, and a pleasure to chat to the people behind them.
Look forward to seeing the photos!
