And this guy has 4 cars for sale for the equivalent of £10,000 - £14,000
http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/lotus/au...

Four cars included in price.
1. 1976 lotus eclat. Rough original, running and complete. Motor fuming under idle. Runs strong and has been lowered professionally. Drives well.Original capri 4 speed, Walbro mags 13".
2. 1979 lotus eclat. Rough original interior. Spent $15,000 panel and paint and rebuilding motor and box 3,500 miles ago. Paint job no good. Drives well. If anyones interested I will start another auction $8,000 no reserve.
3. 1982 lotus eclat. Last year built with this body shape. Has galvanised chassis and 2.2 motor, getrag gbox. In bits but motor etc still in. Some interior restoration completed. Fully specd car. Rough original paint. All there except carbs. If anyones interested I will start another auction at $4,000 no reserve.
4. 1974 lotus elite. Hatchback version of above cars. Fully restored chassis with body back on, sanded down. All there and some good/new bits.

A spare motor which has completed 4,000 miles from new. Slight head damage. In bits. Spare 5speed maxi box, reco.
A spare elite body with the front burnt off it. Not much left but some good spares.

Classic car prices in Australia seem high. I sold a Europa Twin Cam to a guy in Canberra. I wonder how he got on with it.

Lovely, is it yours ?

Found myself distracted by the XR2 Trailer behind it though.

I've noticed even bread and butter used cars are expensive in Australia compared to the UK, maybe kinder climate, better survival rate ?

A reasonable looking Elite. No word on the chassis. Noisy gearbox.

No, I took the pictures at the West Coast Rally - Eglinton Park, Irvine during the summer.

I won't clutter this thread up with an XR2 pic, but you can see it here;
