I'd forgotten all about these classics until this thread, and then saw a couple of pikies in one this afternoon.
roflYeah spot on if you drive through a roadblock in one of them these days you're guaranteed of to be pulled over for a thorough vehicle searchlaugh

Just spotted this a few minutes ago. Pretty definitively 1980s if you ask me.

... although that particular example rather spoils things by being a '91 on a 'J', possibly a '92.

Still, my own 944 was built in late 1990 so I am guilty of just the same thing, having blatantly touted the pimptastic interior a couple of pages back.

Does anyone remember this advert with Grace Jones for the CX. Even the adverts were better for cars in the 80's.
Better than what ? scary mad bh weird st !
Better than some of the fking stupid adverts we get now like the Golf one where the couple pick one up off the supermarket shelf and carry on shopping. The SMUG S.
I loved that advert...loved the car too

After having countless mk2 Golfs, a brace of e30 BMWs, a mk1 Golf Gti, a quattro and a W124 Merc, here's my current 80s steed:

Lol, glad to be of nostalgic service!

I remember doing my training for my full bike licence, on my Vespa scooter, in 1988...when you had to do 'Part 1' on a school playground around cones and that. One of the instructors had one of these, and we all used to drool horrendously over it! Seeing it parked up there gave us all the impetus to try very hard to learn and pass our tests!

These too! And yes, my first road car ( this tweaked Capri, was the fastest 3 Litre Capri in east London in the early 80s ) seen here, was built in 72, But, these were still plentiful And £ cheap throughout the 1980s, just £500 quid ( in 82 ) bought what was still a Very quick car, the 3 Litre Capri bought cheap speed to Lots of people in the 1980s.
