Can't you sell something else instead? It's a decision I'm sure you'll regret.

You know when you shouldn't really sell something when you get the kind of responses above wink

/\ This.
You are probably not going to find another for an amount of money that you wouldn't think was sensible.

It's a rare car, it's a pretty car, the marque has a good pedigree.

I don't know what it's worth but I do know you got an absolute bargain (despite its condition).

As a vendor, I dislike the uncertainty of auctions, and I resent the percentage of buyers' premiums plus vendors' fees etc. that the auction houses take (for no risk) but ...... with the present state of the market, combined with the mania for 'barn finds', I wonder if that would be your best course (assuming you HAVE to sell)?.

Hello Guys,

I am just replacing the clutch and whilst there saw the gearbox mount was toast so replaced that too. After that will put her up for sale in the usual places. As you can see from this thread this is a usable car as it is and is structurally sound, however it is scruffy and has had rough and ready repairs in the past. I have sprayed rust inhibitor in all the cavities and cut out and patched any obvious rust. Either to be used as is or for a full resto. It is an original Alfa supplied right hand drive car, not a conversion so very rare. I have the paperwork from Alfa to prove that. I am looking for £17,950. You are welcome to come and view and drive as soon as clutch is back in, probably in around a week.

PM me if you want to know more.

Jack

It's a shame if you have to sell. If you could take a loan out for the garage and carry on with the work on the car over the winter you would have the car's faults sorted and it would be ready for spring.

Problem at the moment is the time of year and the little faults that a buyer could knock you down with. I hope it all works out anyway.

Well Smokey got its MOT with no advisories!! Also looks like it has a buyer. Waiting for cleared funds but if it goes through I'll be really sorry to see it go. Just driving it around today was so much fun that I'm almost considering going back on the deal.

Bugger. I dreamt it would still be available, in April when I would be in a position (UK) to buy it.
