COOL CLASSIC CAR SPOTTERS POST!!! Vol 2
Discussion
Out on a bike ride, I was passed on the A30 rather sedately by a white 1984 Ford Capri 2.8i tonight.
Rather odd, I thought. Maybe he's spotted the PH Lycra and slowed for a better look? I looked down to see that I'd covered said PH jersey with a cheap Hi-Vis orange thing from Sports Direct, so it probably wasn't that.
Just after the BCA Blackbushe roundabout, the reason for his lack of pace became apparent. Matey was out of his car, round the back looking underneath. The car behind him had pulled up too, hazard lights on. At first I feared they'd had a bump, but there, under the car, spinning slowly on the floor, was the rear end of the prop shaft. Still connected at the front, it definitely wasn't going to be providing any drive in a hurry.
I felt quite sad, seeing this lovely Capri stranded by the side of the road. Naff all I could do to help, too, being on a bicycle...

Spotted on the M40 this afternoon a Bentley I think a S2 towing a caravan of the same era (1959-1962).
The Bentley and caravan were colour coded and looked wonderful wafting along.
No photos as I was
Edited to add I also spotted a stunning Ferrari 330 GTC heading southbound M40.

My wife said that there was a nice old sports car in the supermarket car park yesterday.
"What was it?" I asked.
"A red one" she replied.
"Yes, but what make of sports car?"
"Don't know, but I took a photo of it for you" she replied.
My wife does not recognise one of the most iconic car shapes of all time....
I got a bit excited took a snap of an e-type whilst I was out with my then-girlfriend a couple of years back. She looked at me a bit funny and said "why are you taking a photo of that car?". "What was it?" I asked.
"A red one" she replied.

I tried to explain, but she didn't get it... She didn't even think it was that pretty!
My current girlfriend doesn't really get it either, ho hum...
As we're on an E-type trip, can I ask the Italian man constantly driving a gorgeous dark blue convertible CT-registered Series 1 E-type (is the clue in the registration?) between Cap d'Ail and Monaco to kindly stop doing it? It is absolutely delicious and making me very envious. Please stop it now!(Or at least give me a lift)

All that quality/style and yet it is still "Caravanning"But as nice as it is, you won't be any less held up by it if you get trapped behind it on a narrow Cornish road to the beach...
Sadly stationary ( I assume broken down) on the M4 this morning.
