COOL CLASSIC CAR SPOTTERS POST!!! Vol 2

No pic I'm afraid, it was raining 'comme une vache qui pisse' as the French say, but on the forecourt of a derelict country garage near St Junien (Haute-Vienne) belonging to a major local dealer who has moved into town I noticed, a day or two ago, a little line consisting of a Citroen GS, one of those pretty little late-60s Fiat 850 coupes and a 1950s Panhard saloon. If I wait a few months for a fine spring day I'll take a pic - because I'll bet they'll still be there.

I'd be interested to kmow where that is.If you're in that area (give or take 60 minutes), have you ever had a wander around le Palais de l'automobile at La Rochefoucauld?
Certainly have. Always worth a look - although they did mislead me over an XJC some years ago, but that's another story. Have you ever looked around Berigaud Automobiles Anciennes at St Junien?
The forecourt I mentioned is the former MGP Autos by the main D675 Rochechouart/St Junien road, about 2km from St J. There's usually interesting stuff stashed out the back - once there was even an XJS under a lean-to...

Is Berigaud the one in the industrial estate on the A12? If so, I keep meaning to drop in, but it's not on the way to anywhere for us, so I keep forgetting (we are near Vayres, to other side of Rochechouart). I'm trying to picture the MGP Autos place. I'm assuming is the large white(ish) building which used to have an old coach and a gold Cadillac out the front, and a bit of an Alladin's cave round the back.

My brother in law is trying to sell the TA now.
As for the place at La Rochefoucauld - well worth a visit..

Hi, always stop here in September to jet wash our car at the garage opposite on our way to Angouleme Remparts as we enter concours to wash the muck off after 1500 miles and fill up with petrol. The difference between a PHer and his wife -Doofus: Do you know the old industrial building on the 675 that had that gold Cadillac with a white vinyl roof out the front and a blue Bedford coach parked down the side?
Mrs Doofus: Is that the one next to the field with the three Poitou donkeys in it?
Aahhhh.

Yes and yes. Berigaud's place is visible from the adjoining N141 dual carriageway. He usually has some interesting stuff, if not cheap any more. Some time ago he had an ex-Roy Salvadori T51 Cooper! Last year he had a two-tone green and cream Daimler Barker Special Sports. Amazingly, I met an English guy outside the Hotel de France in Rochechouart with an identical one. When I told him 'there's one just like that for sale in the next town' I think he thought I was mad.I'm trying to picture the MGP Autos place. At a car park near Stoke this afternoon.
I've not seen this colour on a XJS before, but even covered in road grime it looked so lovely.
I'd love an XJS but they are too big for my standard single garage.
Looks like it had it's MOT today - and failed!
Shame it looks so nice and with only 41,000 miles, but looks can be deceiving as rust appears to be an ongoing problem at MOT time.
