I noticed a guy in a BMW Z4 (with hardtop) taking a photo of my Frogeye yesterday afternoon on the M11. Be interesting to see if it turns up here.

It's a Jota! I saw it go past the side of may car and it said 1000cc Jota on it - ffs!

And Mirage's were 1200cc anyway ...

Then someone must have retro fitted that tail piece as Jota's never had them like that and Green was an unusual choice for a Jota.

I saw this Bentley last year at Silverstone.

Despite it's 1920's Le Mans styling, it's a 1931 4-Litre with open VdP-style bodywork.

Although the registration plates appear to be UK, it is actually Dutch: AM-36-62. If the supercharger is connected, it must be the only 4-Litre that has one.

The underpowered Bentley 4-Litre was introduced in 1931 on a cut-down 8-Litre chassis in a desperate attempt to keep the company afloat, but they went bust soon after.

As you were so sure, I looked at this again, and it seems I owe you an apology!
That is a Jota 120, as opposed to the original true 180 degree crank 'true' Jota
Fitted with many Mirage trims, hence my confusion. The 120 degree crank softened the engine somewhat, and never sounded as nice as the original, still nice though, and maybe rarer than a 'proper' Jota
Well spotted

Thanks for that, it was outside Bonhams in town, it was attracting much attention to the dismay of the various modern metal owners hanging around.

The Mini is complete with period stick-on rear window demisters. I haven't seen those for a VERY long time - they were useless. If they cracked the whole panel was U/S.

Am I right in thinking the "wood-free" body was an option?

Christ. Haven't seen those for a long time. I bought a heated rear window element (on a roll) for sticking to the inside of the rear screen of my Hillman Hunter in about 1981. Came in a long box. Looked a bit technical so it stayed unused for about 15 years til I threw it out when moving house.

Nowadays, cars have heated FRONT screens!

Could have orginally been a van and had a window conversion.
