COOL CLASSIC CAR SPOTTERS POST!!! Vol 2
Discussion
Saw loads of classics yesterday on the M40. I was in the frogeye so no camera to hand. A whole bunch of Bristols (some with foreign plates) mixed in with half a dozen older Rolls Royces. A BMW 2002i and a BMW 2002 touring (haven't seen one of those for years). A turner, and MGB some kind of large Singer convertable. A really radically low Citroen (ratrod type of thing), perhaps an Amy or a Diane. It was literally inches off the ground. I loved it. a couple of MG Magnets. Probably others too which I've forgotten.

Yeah, they're nice, Maigrets, but you do see quite a lot of 'em in France...
What was at this little show was a very nice Renault 11 Turbo. Now there's a rarity. But I didn't put it on here cos I was a bit afraid of the flak I might get!
well i'm personally not in france so it's a rarity to me! Post the 11!!What was at this little show was a very nice Renault 11 Turbo. Now there's a rarity. But I didn't put it on here cos I was a bit afraid of the flak I might get!
There was a Fuego there as well, for gawd's sake! My brother had one years ago and he's still stroppy when I take the Michael.

Maybe to you! - I'd be more interested in a rubber bumpered MG than this piece of st any day of the week!
Yep, my opinion My interest comes from the scarcity (and in this case that it's old for a small diesel) rather than looks, or why ever else people like to see latter day BGTs etc.

Triumph Spitfire daily driver seen in Ontario, Canada last week which I just had to get a pic of. Looked in really good condition considering it's almost 40 years old. I briefly spoke to the driver at the lights as I'd noticed the 4 exhausts (thinking 2.5 p.I. conversion) apparently not though, just the std 1500 4 cyl. Sounded nice as it pulled away:

In the early eighties I had a black, black bumpered 1977 MGB GT. I thought it was the bks. Both my father and brother had chrome bumpered MGBs at the time and I was fascinated by MG owners waving at one another and couldn't wait to start. Very soon I noticed that some chrome bumper owners ignored waves from Johnny-come-lately black bumper owners. Bewildering to begin with, but I soon got used to it. One day though, an MGB GT identical to mine came the other way - same year, same colour, absolutely identical - and I proudly waved. He didn't so much ignore me as look at me as if I was mad.I was driving my wife's Mini.

...also a red Lancia 037 on the A272 twixt Midhurst and Petworth, in traffic, so not fulfilling its potential. Would this be a real one - looked OK to me - or are there copies/replicas?
It could possibly have been an 037 Stradale but bodykits have been made for fitting to Montecarlos too. Not sure which would be rarer!lotus72 said:
is that Beach Buggy for sale ?
There were three on display at the Capel Car show (Surrey) last sunday, all three for sale, from memory they were £4k, £4.5k and £6.5k, no further details I'm afraid but a good trawl of the net or even a new post here should turn something up if you're after one. None were as tidy as the one here though.Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
