Apologies for poor quality photos. Had to copy via iPad camera to Photobucket from digital camera.

911s spotted as we approached Millau Bridge, others in Costa Blanca earlier this week.

This may not be a classic, cool, or even a car in the eyes of many, but this little beauty is nearly 30 years old and is in regular use!

That is all of those. Even now it looks pretty capable of some decent off roading and looks cool.

Does it count as "spotted" if it's my dad's car?

Protects the sides though! If you did that in France you'd have a b******y Twingo squeezed in each side within minutes.

Spotted in Fleet, in a garage, last week. Looked really nice, but unfortunately unable to see the full car from the street.

Spotted this on the walk to Reading Festival from the station. Damned digital camera took too long to 'wake up' so I only caught this much of it. Still, at least it's recognisable, unlike the next attempt...

...which was spotted in the same road, a day or so later. The driver of this polished aluminium looking beauty actively accelerated when he spotted the camera, so all I caught was the bootlid. It looked very much like an AC Ace, and sounded very 'straight sixy'. Possibly a replica, but a very faithful one if it was, I was too busy cursing the damned camera to get a proper look at the badging on the front.

Saw one on the A40 going out of London once driven by the most humourless bloke in the world. He looked like driving it was the worst imposition he'd ever been burdened with.

They are very cool, such elegant looking things.

You know what? It could well have been. Like I say, I was fighting a losing battle against the electronics in my camera, so failed to get a good look close up, and from a distance there's not a lot of massive differences between the BMW/F-N and an Ace. Does anyone know of such a polished aluminium beast living in the Reading area, or which might pass through on August Bank Holiday weekend?

That car is a one-off: a 1936 BMW 315/1, which was re-bodied (post-WW2) by Williams & Pritchard.
And, yes, I believe it's owner does live in that area.

A regular BMW 315/1 looks like this:
