...which was spotted in the same road, a day or so later. The driver of this polished aluminium looking beauty actively accelerated when he spotted the camera, so all I caught was the bootlid. It looked very much like an AC Ace, and sounded very 'straight sixy'. Possibly a replica, but a very faithful one if it was, I was too busy cursing the damned camera to get a proper look at the badging on the front.
And, yes, I believe it's owner does live in that area.
A regular BMW 315/1 looks like this:

It's a car I've always admired, looks so modern compared to everything else at VSCC events.
Anyone from Norn Iron reading this forum?
On the Comber ring-road this afternoon I saw a beautiful Dubonnet Red Aston Martin DB4 - definitely a DB4 and not a 5. Lovely, really lovely. And then a few minutes later near Lisbane, a replica D-Type, 1969/70 plates, in Ecurie Ecosse colours. Looked a decent quality replica, and sounded ace.
BTW the Triumph Dolomite above, very non-standard bodywork. Looks nice, although the Art Deco waterfall grille doesn't really match the skimpy competition body.

Geek Corner: an Aston customer didn't like the fared headlights of the DB5 and had his made with conventional headlights like the DB4.MonkeySpanker said:

Here's more regular Dolomite bodywork, although even this one has cutaway wings and a unique cut-down roadster body.Edited by Roy C on Thursday 28th August 16:21

If ever an exhaust needed some paint!Love it all the same
If that can was originally black then it's a very rare car, only 2 were made.

That is a LE model, one of the last 500 built. The chrome bumpers were not standard.
Are you sure it's a LE Model????Yes, it's the silver they were painted in but it doesn't have the LE side stripes or LE wheels.
More likely just a bog standard rubber bumper GT which has been converted to chrome bumpers, resprayed and earlier rear lights fitted.
