saw this Guernsey plated 1952 Peugeot 203 in Jersey yesterday. Lots of nice details to it including original sliding metal sunroof.

At a large but pretty boring show near Limoges today - a Ford Consul Capri. Can't remember the last time I saw one.
French restoration standards don't seem to be improving much.
There was also a 'Frank Cannon' Lincoln Continental. I nearly bought one 20-odd years ago and I'd still be tempted...

It's a 'Ford Consul Classic'

'Capri' had a fastback style sloping roof.

A couple spotted on my travels recently!

The woman in the passenger seat said this was a Hudson Essex Terraplane? I think it's quite a rare one! I did say I loved Hudson Hornets, but she didn't know what one was...

Lovely! Interestingly though, a '74 N reg is well into the square headlight design. rhd as well, wonder what the story is.

Good spot.

The front just unscrews anyway so not a difficult swap to make it look older.

Car also has "prancing moose" on the bootlid.

I'm afraid the owner wasn't around to ask, otherwise I would have definitely asked the history!
It seemed to be properly kitted out - roll cage, ignition cut off switches etc - I wonder if they use it in competition? It might be worth seeing if one of our resident internet sleuths could find out smile

Just thought, it could have been an original '66 ish car, brought to the UK and registered with a contemporary plate in the mid 70's. Sweden used to drive on the left then and the original car being rhd would have been correct. They changed over to drive on the right in the late 60's so an original '74 car would have been a leftie!

My mate at school had a silver '77 Jubilee edition in the late 80's. It made such a lovely noise and the girls LOVED it!!

A few nice cars in the car park of an auto show at the weekend.

Cheating to post pics of the cars inside, but among the 250 or so on display, this very accurate replica 250GTO was a standout...

as was this lovely little Datsun.

Sorry, you're quite right. I was fooled by the two doors. Shows how long it is since I saw one.

French registered, right hand drive, 3.8 MkII in Newbury this morning. Rather than subject them to my schoolboy French I addressed them clearly in English which was handy because they were Brits. The car was rammed with luggage. A very stylish touring car.

1964 Triumph 2000 by Zack S. Classic Cars, on Flickr
I spotted this yesterday (fairly sure it was the same car), so I add this photograph to this thread for a second time.

Today I saw a '70s Mercedes barge and, rather excitingly, a Lancia Beta Montecarlo. I'd forgotten how nice they were.

Those different colour roofs seem to be all the trend now!

in the late 1960's, my folks had a had a Vauxhall Victor 101 estate with exactly the same colour scheme as that Triumph. Great car and we took it all over Europe. No image I'm afraid.

Wouldn't a French plate of that vintage be "1234 AB 56"? The plate would have a 2 digit numerical department identifier at the end, eg 75 for Paris, 33 Gironde etc...
