The first car I ended up upside down in - in that same colour aswell ! Mate was driving ,round a sharp hairpin to be met by a guy in a Ford Fiesta on our side of the road attempting to overtake a lorry ! Banked kerb, once we clipped it to avoid a head on, the car flipped ! I had to break the passenger window to get out as the door was jammed, mate was stuck in the car until we dragged him out. Off to hospital and I ended up in a neck brace. The following day I flew to Gran Canaria for my first ever holiday abroad with a girlfriend , took the neck brace off after 3-4 days as the tan line was looking silly Anyway , loved the look of my mates Fuego back then , we were the same age - I was dead jealous. He hated the thing , mind you he did ok, Fuego was replaced with a white Ford Escort RS Turbo.
Driving home from a car show today, I saw a Morgan, and M.G.B GT and a Volkswagen Type 2, but by far the most exciting thing was the very car you see below.

My dad had a Rebel when I was about 3 or 4 years old. It was the first of his cars I remember clearly. White, it was, with a 'Swansea City' sticker in the back window. Then he moved on to a Cortina Mk1, the first of a long line of Ford estate cars that ended with one of the last 'proper' Granadas.1973 Reliant Rebel by Zack S. Classic Cars, on Flickr
In the depths of rural France yesterday I got involved in a convoy of 'classic' cars and, to my surprise, behind me was a TR7. A left-hooker, too. I can't remember the last time I saw one moving. My pal had a new one in the late '70s and it nearly put him (and his bank manager) off motoring for life. Sorry, no pic.
