Snetterton Vintage Festival was on yesterday, some of my photos here if anyone's interested http://imgur.com/a/lmhDC#0
That fits for the Healey but there were a lot of 60s/70s cars heading north in the afternoon. Something at Chelmsford perhaps?RS404 said:

Actually saw a lot of classics on the A12 yesterday, I guess there may have been an event somewhere?

Saw a Porsche 912 soft window targa in Sydenham yesterday afternoon. Not something I've seen before
I don't know how rare soft window targas are but I had no idea they even existed till I saw one in theStuttgart Museum.

Snap! Always good to see one of those.Had a family get together meal at the Watersmeet nr. Hartpury Glos last evening. In the car park was a very nice example of the JI. Spoke to folks there and apparently it's the Landlord's who also has a second JI. Obviously an enthusiast. Got the camera out to get an image or two of this nice Interceptor and "no memory card" Left in the laptop.
No pictures, sorry, but the last few mornings I've seen a Ford Anglia 105E, reg no 280 CLR, being used as a daily commuter. Nice looking car, too. A slightly more 'modern' look about it, alloy wheels and sitting a little lower, but no garish or intrusive mods.
Also a nice looking red Mini 1000 Clubman which appeared to be a daily driver too.

I remember working as a labourer for a local builder back in the early 1990s. He was sort of into cars, but not as much as me. Anyway, I somehow managed to convince him that he needed to buy an S reg (1978) Series 2 XJ12 which was for sale nearby. It would make an ideal replacement for his Escort van I told him. Nice big boot for his tools too.
It was only a grand or so and he took the plunge. I think he was already regretting it even before he got it home. It was a true shed: rusty, thirsty and complete with a rattly V12 engine that was probably churning out 100bhp or so in return for single digit MPG.
After a couple of breakdowns he weighed it in within a few months and bought a brand new Toyota Hi-Lux pick-up. That didn't end well either.
