Relisted with a starting price of £3250, but listing has been ended. Note in the second ad talks about some issues with the service history, though personally I'm not sure I'd be bothered about that on a car of this age and price.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131392210899?ssPageName=...
That's Vauxhalls own car, the one that was in the Ellesmere Port birthday video recently. This video:

"kicks into overdrive and they see me flying past"??? WTF? This guy knows what an 'overdrive' is, I assume?
...seeing as how...
On a car with an auto box, where overdrive is selected, it will usually kick in somewhere above 40 to 45mph, reducing engine speed, and noise, and saving on fuel use. It's a cruising gear, FFS! When the driver adds an additional load, either by increased throttle input to accelerate, or by pointing the car up a steep hill, the gearbox slips out of overdrive into the lower gears. Not the other way around.
I'm not sure I'd want to buy a car from an enthusiast who has no idea how his beloved 40 year old classic actually works...
Isn't the E9 CSL the "most iconic one"?the seller franco_zafiratos said:
Just to answer a few queries, the reserve is set at £4000 and no, you wont get it any cheaper or come and haggle with me,..that should thistle out some of the 294 watchers, I'd rather you unwatch me and go and look at some Ford Fiesta's, I'm sure you'll get one for some of the prices people are offering me. A little history lesson, this model is BMW's most iconic one, although not a Turbo or Tii, it is still a 2002 and a very good one at that. It is that good, you will be able to use it as a daily driver and commute in retro style to work and back in normal traffic, I grin sometimes when I overtake new current cars in it, when it kicks into overdrive and they see me flying past them, only German engineering!!!. This is not a museum piece, that you will need to store away in a heated room, or count every mile you do for fear of clocking the miles up, what a load of crap! Why buy the car, just to put it away and polish it, enjoy it and let people see it. Cars were built to be driven and you can drive this one every day to put a smile on your face, even if you don't like your job, just to drive it there and back will make you want to go to work, no kidding!!!
As I said, if you prick me, you'll get blue blood coming out of me, that how much a fan I am of the brand, I love these cars and this car is going nowhere if its not bought by a fellow enthusiast, you will know what this car represents and what its worth, so I will see it going to a good home and at least feel that I didn't let it go for Fiesta money! Only serious bidders and watchers please, I'd rather have 5 watchers or bidders, than the 294 watchers and half of them don't have a clue, no offence intended!!!

Or am I the one being thick here? Overdrive? Over gearing the final drive, such that the engine RPM is reduced for a given road speed, designed to reduce wear and engine noise, increase longevity, and make fuel economy gains. It's not a feckin' 'boost button' for despatching your oponents in the traffic light Grands Prix. Overdrive is effectively a second gearbox which affects the rotation speed of the output from the main gearbox. We've just added a 'spotted' page to my car show website: http://www.sheppertonclassiccars.uk/spotted/
ah indeed, when I looked for it I came across some old posts with pictures from myself back in 2012
also with one which had a Renault 4cill turbo and 300hp in such lightweight car, around 600kg I believe?
