I know what you mean, but what a backward step by BMC and British Leyland from the 1100/1300 series to the Marina and Ital. My dad had a 1300 as a company car for a while and on one occasion we followed a MkI Cortina GT up one of the local hills and I was volubly impressed by its progress when the old boy pointed out that nondescript thing we were in was keeping up. Neither BL nor the car buying public realised what a sound car it was.droopsnoot said:

I'm not sure that's true - wasn't it the biggest selling car in the UK for several years running? Yertis said:

The correct PH response is "I see he has twin tail pipes – I wonder if that means he has a 2 litre straight six fitted?", rather than worrying about trivial anomalies in the Law. Perhaps you could let us know which other "trivial anomalies in the Law" should also be ignored?

well done yertis , these quotes sums up all that's good and bad about ph .
I think that if it had the 6 cylinder engine, it would have an exhaust either side. I may be wrong but this looks like a standard 4 cylinder box but with two tail pipes.Edited by ivanhoew on Saturday 9th May 09:34
