...I thought you might like to take a look at the 'Spotted' page on my classic car website:

Who drove the cream Escort pictured above? Quasimodo?
When I was a youngster, back in the early 1960s, a car sales site at Hillcommon, near Taunton (opposite the one still there now) had an owner who drove around in an Aston Martin FHC like the one seen at auction above. Red and silver/grey it was - one of the motors that kickstarted my lifelong interest in old cars.
On a slightly more controversial note - and I didn't have a camera on me - parked near me at a car boot sale here in France yesterday was a mint 1980-ish Mk4 Cortina - or Taunus as it was here. I reckon it was far nicer looking than all the euroblobs parked around it, including mine.

Thought I'd wait and see what others had to say before I commented on the Elite. The paddock area was full of machinery from Lola, Deep Sanderson, Lister... loads of racing E-Types and XK120s etc. but the car that really stood out was this Elite - not seen a good one in so long. Looked fantastic right down to its Marina door handles! Mate's dad had one when I was a mere school boy (we had an old landcrab) - exotic was hardly word enough, never understood how they missed out on being desirable... can't be long now, surely.
