A couple of stunners yesterday, but was driving so no pictures.

A silver 1968 Mustang coupe in Bishop's Stortford and a wonderful looking and sounding 1970/71 911 in Wanstead.

Who drove the cream Escort pictured above? Quasimodo?
When I was a youngster, back in the early 1960s, a car sales site at Hillcommon, near Taunton (opposite the one still there now) had an owner who drove around in an Aston Martin FHC like the one seen at auction above. Red and silver/grey it was - one of the motors that kickstarted my lifelong interest in old cars.
On a slightly more controversial note - and I didn't have a camera on me - parked near me at a car boot sale here in France yesterday was a mint 1980-ish Mk4 Cortina - or Taunus as it was here. I reckon it was far nicer looking than all the euroblobs parked around it, including mine.

Spotted a Mk2 E Type FHC in red with painted wires on the back of a car transporter on the A1 today. Looked quite lost amongst the white vans and euroboxes which were also on the transporter.

Thought I'd wait and see what others had to say before I commented on the Elite. The paddock area was full of machinery from Lola, Deep Sanderson, Lister... loads of racing E-Types and XK120s etc. but the car that really stood out was this Elite - not seen a good one in so long. Looked fantastic right down to its Marina door handles! Mate's dad had one when I was a mere school boy (we had an old landcrab) - exotic was hardly word enough, never understood how they missed out on being desirable... can't be long now, surely.

Bbc are filming nearby.
Let's hope they keep the cameras down so that "To Let" sign isn't visible. They've obviously spent a lot of time on those shopfronts thought.

I can't believe how good Elites, Excels & Eclats look these days. I loved them in the day, especially Elites, then they disappeared from my radar. Sensational, their day should come.

A few from the school run this morning....

1975 VW 181 Trekker (rhd)

Lovely 8 series (with a dodgy private plate)

DS Safari

Not sure how neglected this VW Bus was or whether the look was a result of a very expensive and carefully undertaken "rat" look...

Think I spotted the Safari and VW van a few weeks ago,in the same street ?

Couldn't get a pic of the Safari as nowhere to stop near end of road.

Can't remember where I was, apart from North London.

My first car was a VW with the reg KSH 391 P. Must've been from the same dealer, I'd say.
