Nice try, but no. I thought from a distance it was a Turner, and was quite surprised when I read the info sheet.

It was the camber on that front wheel that set me off in pursuit of something Triumph based.

Is that a Triumph Spitfire windscreen frame?

A Spitfire with an aftermarket bonnet swap? From that angle it isn't clear, but it appears to have a similarly low door, and the 'swell' of the bodywork over the rear wheel.

Well done YJ! Yes, I'd never seen it before but apparently it is a Belgian-made fibreglass bonnet that was offered to Triumph in 1967 as an option for the Spitfire and the GT6. 200 kits were made it seems.

I can't decide if I like that fibreglass bonnet or not.
Initially I thought not but there is something about it. either way it just adds something to the varied classic car scene.

My first car was a VW with the reg KSH 391 P. Must've been from the same dealer, I'd say.
That's Agar Grove in Camden. The owner has always had interesting cars and rides a sort of custom low rider push bike too.

The front apron of that bonnet looks to have been modified at some time in its life. It's known as an APAL bonnet, one of the few aftermarket companies like Ashley and SAH that produced fibreglass replacements for the original hefty lump.

Along with your custom bonnet APAL also offered a fastback hardtop similar to the Ashley design that gave you a spitfire with GT6 looks

Also looks a bit like the Reliant Sabre and the Israeli built Sabra (which may have been based on the Sabre, built under license).

SH was Glasgow back then, so they'd both travelled a bit. Mine has been scrap since the 80s.

As I was unable to see if it was a going concern or not, I didn't know where to post this. Not cool, not all that classic, but nice to see. It was on the A38 near Bristol airport.
