Saw a very similar one but in great condition by Silverstone yesterday.

Also followed a 1934 Aston Martin 1.5 Litre Sports Tourer on the A5 from MK to Towcester. Happily cruised along at 75 and sounded fantastic!

Isn't that a MK2 Mondeo trait ?

It's also got Cosworth wheels on a non Cos of some sort although it does look in nice nick.

It's at Clarke and Rodway in Marlborough. They are about to close down and have planning to demolish the site and build flats. No final date has been set they said, so it could be this week or it could be a few months.

Interesting car the Isdera and a rare spot. I note the Mercedes badging: whilst i doubt it's one of the initial Mercedes CW311 concept cars, does it nonetheless make it an early one? Or could you pick your brand, because I also note the lack of periscope, which i'm guessing (and it really is a guess) was a feature of a later model redesign which goes against my first point about the Mercedes badging.

Either way i'd love to know more but a bit of Googling hasn't turned much up. Have I missed an informative website?

I went in and had a chat and they seemed fine. Pretty quiet in there really, as they are just killing time until closure.

DVLA gives a build date of 1991, so a later one, but it also shows as a 5 litre, though, which would make it an early one - so who knows! I feel the need to route via Marlborough & find out. Real shame it comes out of the woodwork when the dealership is closing - perhaps it's an asset of the company?

It can't be newer than 1973, as it would then need a reflective number plate.

Do it! Ask loads of questions and return to the forum to impart bountiful knowledge and claim the title of 'Savant of Isdera' henceforth. Got to be worth a quick road trip thumbup

They've often had a classic or two in the showroom over the years. There are no Citroëns there now. I don't think this Isdera is theirs. The Europa in the background was also very pricey and apparently has racing history.

I'll do my best - "Isdera savant" sounds a bit close to "Idiot savant" though! laugh

A287 this afternoon, heading from Farnham to Odiham, I spot a classic American (I think) Ford. VRN 116 YUP, DVLA say it's a 5700cc car, in grey. Built in 1940, but first registered in UK in 2012, so an import, no doubt. I can't seem to find anything on Google images, nor am I entirely sure which model it is.
