COOL CLASSIC CAR SPOTTERS POST!!! Vol 2
Discussion
On Thursday last week as I was heading down the A1 to kent I saw 4 different Hillman Imps at various points in my journey, then on saturday I saw a very nice looking (and sounding) red Daytona in Brighton and a car transporter carrying half a dozen fiat 500s (proper ones not the modern ones) and what looked like a BMW 3.0cs

How can a company produce something that is so aesthetically pleasing as their 3 litre coupe, then something so goddam ugly as this? However! I'm reading the plate as "KGV 275V" - and DVLA/cartell.ie are both showing it as a 1980 "WINGET". Red in colour and showing as a diesel, but with no engine size or revenue weight stated. Untaxed since 1986 with no MOT details available either. KGV 215V doesn't show up at all as a Marcos. Not that historical DVLA records for low volume marques are to be treated as Gospel

KGV215V comes up as a Mini Marcos though - the centre digit looks a bit too vertical for a seven. Perhaps a reserved range for kit cars or "special" vehicles? A Winget search comes up with a digger manufacturer.droopsnoot said:

A Winget search comes up with a digger manufacturer....and motorised baggage trolleys (think 1950s railway station trucks). DVLA won't furnish any details of a Marcos under KGV 215V, but yes, cartell.ie have it showing as correct for that plate. Confusion possibly down to the Mini-Marcos being built by D & H Fibreglass Techniques Limited, not Marcos themselves, between 1974 and 1981.

The Norwegians also seem to love US muscle cars.
Seen loads this week including Mustangs, Camaros and some huge 60s convertible boats!
This is true of the whole of Scandinavia, having driven all over it in June /July.Seen loads this week including Mustangs, Camaros and some huge 60s convertible boats!
If you don't see an American car about every hour then you're having a bad day..
