It's the early 70's in Highgate this morning. This was a tough choice between this thread and the left to rot thread but I think that the 144 is a runner and the Heralds are not being "left to die" but mid project. The scabby Pontiac thing is terminal though.

MGB GT V8 trivia. The V8 badge appeared in the grille, on the tailgate and the nearside wing but not the offside wing.

If that's cobblers please don't be shy about letting me know.

You are correct...apparently, BL in all their wondrous glory decided offside badges were not needed as we overtake on the right here in Blighty :. showing to the car being passed that you've just been overtaken by a BL MGB V8. Sheer madness of course, and many an owner simply removed the BL badge and added a V8 badge to the offside wing.

I've got a similar story about 105 series Alfa coupes. Apparently the "Disegno di Bertone" badge only appeared on the right hand (near-side in Italy) wing of the cars. So it could be seen when the car was parked at the kerb(!)

Please feel free to correct me if my memory is off kilter.

I hesitate to paste this picture in here as it is obviously not cool but I just couldn't resist anyway.

Classic V8 Vantage from 1977 yesterday. Had the pleasure of driving this on to the way to it being sold.

If you change the grill back, removed the peak and put normal tyres on it may start to look OK.

Looks like it's been chopped as well though.....

Saw an old Maxi last night. No pics as it was dark and raining, but it looked a bit of a dog with many different coloured panels. Possibly the owner is slowly renovating it?

Good grief!

Wonder what engine is in that?

I do like the understated 2CV behind though.
