There you are! I thought you'd disappeared from our lives forever.
There was a hiatus.
Me? Been without PC based access for a while. There was a hiatus.
Two recent spots when I've been out cycling (in my PH cycle jersey )...
Now I know that "cool" is very subjective, but it looks in remarkably good nick. But 'cartell.ie' and the DVLA site don't have a result for that VRN. I was sure it was a Maxi 1700, according to the boot lid badge, but my eyes must have been playing tricks on me, because I'm pretty certain there were only two engine choices - 1485cc and 1748cc.
The first 5 door, 5 speed gearbox British car, and the first new car produced under 'British Leyland'. Alec Issigonis' last car design, and the last car designed under the BMC company before the merger with Leyland. And the lady (11 years my senior) to whom I lost my virginity back in the late 1980s drove a beige Maxi 2 HL, with which she forced me to the side of the road (I was on a bicycle) to ask me out for a drink.
and a car far more deserving of inclusion in this thread...
A beautifully restored Triumph TR6 outside a garage near Chiddingfold. You can't see it in the picture, but the insides of the wheel arches were as white as the rest of the body, and there wasn't a mark on it. Probably better now than when it rolled out of the factory new.
