No photos unfortunately but I'm fairly sure I just saw an Aston Martin DBR2 shell or replica at least on an open truck on the M1 near Newport Pagnell. Very cool car indeed!
One of very few Astons not to have the traditional Aston grille.Thinking about it, most of the cars without the Aston grille were the work of Ted Cutting, AM's Chief Designer in the fifties and early sixties. These included DBR1, DBR2, DBR4 and the Project cars: Project 212, 214 and 215.
DBR4 was one AM's few ventures into Grand Prix racing. I wonder if they'll ever try again.

My first Delta HF Turbo Martini edition was white on the outside and had a lovely interior like this one>
outside looked like this one, came without the martini stripe on the outside.

I'd forgotten about the Martini headlining, Lancia really pioneered the use of Alcantara in car interiors. Rambling off topic but why did the Delta Turbo have such narrow tyres, I'm sure they only came on 165/65s.
I was in the market for one of these and remember taking one for a test drive. (I'd also considered an Escort RS Turbo) The Delta was just so much faster and handled so much better than the Ford, in my opinion it didn't need wider tyres, it was fine with the 165's, great car, really put a smile on my face. Ended up buying a Corolla GT coupe, that was fun as well, very revvy rwd which appealed more at the time.Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
