COOL CLASSIC CAR SPOTTERS POST!!! Vol 2
Discussion
Went to a funeral in Stonehouse yesterday, and pulling up outside the church, noticed I was behind a Triumph Stag.
It wasn't until I crossed the road to take a photo though, that I noticed the Rover 2000 next to it.
They were both quite scruffy though as you'll notice if you zoom in.
Of course I realised afterwards, I should have done a group shot with my 1-Series coupe to show you how small they looked.

Weren't AML afeared of legislation compelling them to meet emissions targets by an average across their whole range? Had it happened, the only way to balance the nastiest gases from the top of the range cars was to have angelic cars at the other end of the scale at the other end of the range.
I recall something along those lines as well. Isn't that part of the reasoning behind hybrid Panameras and the like, too?Cliftonite said:
I spotted a white one of those t'other day. Looked quite aggressive, 'taller' at the rear than the front, and possibly wearing wider tyres on the rear axle too. Last 3 digits on the plate were "501" if anyone knows it.Quite possibly this one...
Not my picture, but I found it here... http://prefercars.com/ford-anglia-100e/
In sadder news, a 105E Anglia, a Rover P6, and a third large 1950s/1960s saloon car all on the back of a flatbed being hauled off to be smashed to pieces at a classic car enthusiasts' hell over the weekend...
A spur of the moment Cotswold jaunt today produced a nice variety of classics, a bright red Aston DB5 in Broadway (which I've seen there once before), a Jowett Javelin and pre-war Austin 7 in Cirencester, a Gilburn Invader and a two tone BMC 1100/1300 on a driveway near Burford and a Riley Pathfinder just outside Chipping Norton.

Does this count? Spotted this afternoon out the front of my house. I bought it today for just £500, it's an 83 Escort 1.6 GL estate. I'm betting there aren't too many around. Am seriously thinking of 'hot rodding' it later in the year once the MOT has run out.

Hmmm, I did my best to kill them off as a species. 2 in 12 months when I was 18. Click on the pic for a larger image.
