Takes me back to my 2nd.
Still have a soft spot for the old fiesta.
Wow, I remember looking at and driving one exactly like that aged 17 when searching for my first car with my dad. I didn't get it though, went for an Escort 3-door estate instead. Less cool probably, but bigger.

Not everyone would consider the first two of these 'cool', but in the context of how they were being used, I thought they were worthy of the thread.

On the M25 this lunchtime we were followed for a couple of miles by this - a Frazer Nash?

Not the best photo, but taken by a back seat passenger through the tailgate.

Almost: it is a 1930 Aston Martin International Le Mans. Here is Ivo on the circuit of Zandvoort:

The funny thing is, that "muesli" is probably rarer now than your beloved TR4! wink

As I approached, the beaming pilot and co-pilot emerged to say I was the second person to have approached them today. The other key parts of the conversation were: "Hello, I'm Ollie from Top Gear," "I've got the car for a couple of days," "It's part of the Audi Press Fleet," and, "You won't believe the mileage."

I did. The car is immaculate.

Thanks, Ollie. I shall seek out your missives in Top Gear.
Wow... must be one of the most desirable of a very desirable car.

Great to see that Europa. It's identical to the one I had in the '70's.
I heard that it was turned into a hovercraft! by Wheeler Dealer duo but I've not been able to confirm the story.

The reg no of my Europa was BRE 92J. Can anybody shed any more light on the story?

Or it's had a new speedometer... S2's and RS2's speedometers suffer from dry soldered joints which give intermittent speedometer functionality.... Basically, when the car interior is hot the speedometer can bu¥ger about. If the car is maintained by someone who is not aware of the issue they inevitably replace the speedometer...

I was just going off what my phone app told me about the reg. It didn't even give it as an Aston Martin, though...
