Did I dream it or did Daimler use a male and female mould technique in the manufacture of the SP250?

As in, the most costly way to make GRP.

The reason I ask is I just spent ten minutes searching and nothing comes up.

We parked next to that Dart at Capel in August.

Number plate not legal (should be reflective). Yellow paint on the road would seem to suggest dodgy parking too!

Suspect number plate font, too, on BMW in front of it?

rolleyes

Nice car, though!!

Parked legally, 9pm so all of the restrictions had ended. Outside a strip club, some of the cars there are normally a lot worse than dodgy number plates on bmws hehe

A hand built exclusive based on the Triumph Dolomite, the knowledgeable folk on this 'ere thread said.

Today, passing the same spot, I saw this parked up..

Immaculate doesn't even being to describe it, it could've rolled off the showroom floor yesterday.. cloud9

I have an extremely soft spot for these; my Grandfather had a Dolomite (but not a Sprint, sadly) in British Racing Green, and it smelt of petrol inside and I'm certain it was the machine that turned me into a petrolhead.

My brother had a Triumph GT6 (the Spitfire-based, straight 6, 2 litre fast-back) at one time and he could hustle it along quite quickly. He was particularly pleased with his negotiation of a long right hander on his way home from work; corners not being the car's forte, you understand. He said he was howling round the bend one evening when a Dolomite Sprint appeared out of nowhere, overtook him on the bend taking the tighter line, and disappeared into the distance. He had seen the future and the GT6 had to go.

I had a Sprint for a while in my youth, I'd say taking corners wasn't it's best ability neither. It did keep me fit though, I had to push start it every time.

The smell of petrol.....mmm...mmm... (Homer-style drool)

When I was a kid my best mate's dad had an old pre-war Wolseley 14hp (supposedly ex-police) that we used to sit in. The mixture of the smell of petrol and leather remains with me to this day - it was at its height on hot sunny days, presumably because of the evaporation.

Thinking back, maybe I was "hooked" on the fumes, but it's the best smell in the world.

I've never heard that suggestion before, but the most costly sounds about right. The SP250 was basically a hand made car and the variations in quality can be great. The car in the picture belongs to the SP250 registrar and has reputedly done well over 200,000 miles.

Pretty rare 1302S Beetle ...

1982 immaculate XR2 on its way to a new owner down south (being towed by a local classics dealer)

Just managed to snap this hot rod out and about in Westcliffe/Southend last Friday before the nose of the car on the right blocked the view ... 30's Ford?

Ford Sierra Cosworth ...

Unrestored 60s Vauxhall with interesting no. plate

VW Camper with again, a dodgy plate.

Don't often venture into this part of ph, even though I have owned a few cars old enough to be classed as classic.

Anyway a couple outside the same house but two different days
