COOL CLASSIC CAR SPOTTERS POST!!! Vol 2
Discussion
How about some proper classics.
Went out for coffee this morning. The café is in a spot which is frequented by all sorts of interesting stuff - a lot of car clubs use the roads round about for runs.
First off this was parked just up the road. Not unusual to see a Healey, I think they actually make them over here still given the number on the road.
However, then the Delage Club turned up (I think this is possibly their entire membership).
1931 D8S - was exhibited at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance (a quick google told me that)
I like the very subtle LED light bar on the back
Then there was this, not sure of the age or the model with this one
Then this arrived - absolutely stunning. As far as I can tell it is a recreation of the 1936 D6.70 Speciale with a Figoni & Falaschi body (it had that plate on it) although it appears the original car was built to race and competed in Le Mans in 1937 and then had the body removed in 1938. This car is, as far as I can tell, a recreation. There is an article about it here http://www.supercars.net/blog/1936-delage-d6-70-sp...

We visited the chateau at Monbazillac last week and as we arrived (in the Bristol) we were invited to join a local Bergerac classic car club meet that was there that day. The 410 always attracts interest in France as there are so few Bristols over there.

That's a very nice place to meet up with the locals, there are some cracking cars tucked away in the region and some of the very best French wines...a freshly chilled Monbazillac on a warm summers day is sublime. Re' Bristols, I always see plenty of fine bristols when in France Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
